Bucharest is a city which can be done easily in one day...because it is laying on old patterns....like in 18 century, it remained famous -> the way from the king bedroom to "daily office" - named "Podul Mogosoaiei" and now called "Calea Victoriei"; Bucharest was very famous interwar period both as a city, but specially as a cultural center, romanian culture touched the peak back then, the most important romanian books were written interwar period..
Nicolae Ceausescu is the one which changed the architecture of the city into good...since 1989 , exception for some glass-buildings, very ugly in my opinion, nothing changed! The city is very stingy on green spaces, even though Ceausescu built with brains and laid many parks around, the new capitalism burried everything into a concret dull block; in the new, cheap neighbourhoods built after 1989 , there are no trees on hundreds of square km
Another interesting areal in Bucharest is in the north....from "Piata Victoriei" to Kiseleff Boulevard and further more to "Piata Presei & Herastrau"... though nature is degrading a lot and no environment measure is taken; usually, people come for night-life, but you don't need to hear about what is written already in internet...can discover some stuff in a tour together.. about what is not written!
